Newman is a busy mining town servicing the workers and their families. The town has great accessibility to exciting tourist attractions and adventures including Karijini National Park, Ningaloo Reef, 4WD expeditions, camping and much more.
Newman, a modern mining town, is located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Boasting the largest open cut mine in the world, Newman has the longest privately owned railway (426 km from Newman to Port Hedland) in the world to handle the vast amounts of iron ore being transported from the site.
Karijini National Park is less than two hours drive and is one of the most spectacular and largest parks in WA offering breathtaking gorges, beautiful crystal clear pools and cascading waterfalls.
The Practice
The clinic services both the local and mining community offering general and occupational medicine. Clinic opening times are Monday – Friday 8.00 am – 6.00 pm and Saturday 8.30 am – 12.00 pm
As the Medical Practitioner at Newman you will provide services to the local community including:
- General family medicine programs
- Pre Employment Medical Exams
- WorkCover compliant Audio
- Spirometry testing
- Mine worker's Health Surveillance
- Drug and alcohol testing (clinic or onsite services available)
- Injury Management
- Educational and preventative health programs
Support
You will be supported by a professional team of 3 Permanent General Practitioners, 1 Practice Manager, 1 Occupational Health Nurse , 1 Enrolled Nurse, 1 Occupational Health technician, 2 Medical Receptionists GP's with previous Occupational Medicine experience are encouraged to register their interest.
