Port Augusta is the fifth most populous city in South Australia after Adelaide, Mount Gambier, Whyalla and Murray Bridge. It is a seaport located on the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia and is located at the head of the Spencer Gulf, 322 km north of the state capital.
Situated on the tip of the Spencer Gulf, Port Augusta is known as the 'Crossroads of Australia'. It is where the major inland highways from Western Australia, Northern Territory, New South Wales and Victoria converge, and offers travellers a perfect stopover between vast travelling distances.
From Flinders Lookout you can admire the superb views of the spectacular and ancient Flinders Ranges. At the foothills of the imposing Flinders Ranges, Port Augusta is the 'back door' to the great Australian outback, this intriguing environment where desert meets the sea, is a delight to explore.

Full-time General Practitioner required to meet patient demand in a busy practice. Approximately 40 hours per week with shared on call hospital roster and Saturday mornings.
Support
A nurse is on duty at all times during the week, working in the treatment room and other nurses assist GP’s with Care Plans, Health Assessments & procedures.
Job Description
- Postgraduate training and experience in general practice
- Ideally hold Fellowship of the relevant Australian Specialist College or an equivalent qualification and be registered or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of South Australia
- Alternatively you will be eligible for RACGP specialist traineeship and hold AMC part 1 and 2 with demonstrated 5 years of Australian equivalent full time general practitioner experience
- Obstetrics and Anaesthetics are NOT required
