Our recruitment team works in a coordinated manner with team based objectives. The team includes:
Dr Ray Power
Ray qualified as a Medical Doctor from University College Dublin in 1988 and worked for 7 years in Australia during the 1990s. Whilst in Australia, he worked for a time with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and as a GP and was also appointed Assistant director of the Western Australian Centre for Remote and Rural Medicine where he worked for 6 years. He was also involved in setting up MediVenture, a successful medical services company to provide a locum support programme for rural doctors in Western Australia.
On his return to Ireland in 2000, Ray set up Locumotion initially as a Campus Company in University College Dublin, a natural setting for the company which combined medical recruitment service underpinned by professional development ethos. This ethos remains a unique and fundamental part of the service Locumotion provides today. Ray was also founding Director of the UCD GP Training Programme. In 2003, Ray set up Centric Health with another medical colleague Dr Maurice Cox.
Dr Paul Carroll
Paul graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1992, and worked for eight years in hospital medicine in the UK and Australia. He completed his GP training in Western Australia and worked as a GP in Perth and regional Western Australia including a time spent working in the Woomera Detention Centre caring for illegal immigrants. Paul moved to Ireland to work as a GP in 2001 and joined Locumotion as part-time Medical Director in 2002. He also works as Clinical Director for the expanding GP practice arm of Centric Health.
Rebecca Drummond
Rebecca is responsible for the day to day running of Locumotion. With a Commerce degree and two years experience in human resources in New Zealand, Rebecca brings extensive experience to the Locumotion team. She has been with Locumotion for over seven years now and provides an invaluable knowledge of the global medical recruitment industry along with strong decisive managerial techniques.
Lauren Brown
Lauren’s main role is to facilitate GP placements within Australia which includes liaising directly with GP Practices throughout Australia, IMGs and IPN. Lauren completed her Bachelor of Education, majoring in Information and Communication Technology from Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia. She joined the Locumotion team over 2 years ago, initially as the Hospital team administrator and then as Hospital Placement Coordinator for Ireland and has recently been appointed to the position of Recruitment co-ordinator for Australia.
Lauren also holds a Certificate II in Business through the Australian Medical Association (AMA) which she completed in 2002 and has had many years of experience working in the Australian Health sector through Private General Practice in Western Australia.
